Christmas season and snow came early

After all the snow from last time, we just got more. Enough to get some snow shoeing in while throwing the ball for Stella. We still can't believe how lucky we were to find this place.

After that a warm up in the weather. It's still only November,  so we shouldn't be too surprised about that. We have 4 spruce trees in the front and on a nice sunny day we decided to hang all our red lights in the smaller one. We just had enough  and were very happy with the end result. So happy that we went out and bought more red lights for another, bigger tree. Bought the last red strings in town. It was just  enough, but we would have liked to use more. Maybe next year when we will also buy more for another spruce in the front. The one we just did is pretty high. We had the ladder in the loader of the UTV and Tim was just able to reach the top, leaning against the tree and arranging the string on the branches while I walked around the tree with the lights stringing along. I always thought that one walked around a tree with strings in May, but apparently you can also do this in November. Since we were both busy there are no pictures of this adventure, which is a shame. Maybe next year.

The next day we had a beautiful sunset.

And now it is December 1 and also the first Saturday of the month. Both Gore Bay and Lucan have their parades tonight and we're not hosting a dinner party. Strange! The parade doesn't start till 7 tonight. First there will be Carol singing, tree lighting and hot chocolate served by the Rotarians (our friend Cheryl will be one of them), and then the parade will start at 7:30. Pending on the weather we may venture out, but the forecast mentions rain and wet snow ... We may melt!
Put up a Charlie Brown Christmas tree instead. Next week the real tree will be cut. This one is to  compensate for a dark day.
