After 2 weeks of warm weather, I jinxed the weather by ordering new sandals and 4 Muskoka chairs to be put on the grass. So, back to April weather and well into May. Cold and windy, rain, and maybe 10 snowflakes, but also a lot of sun. So, not all was lost. Tim, in the cooler but sunny weather, got a lot of a new trail cleared around the cliff face that he discovered last fall. Not only did he clear at the bottom of the cliff, but went along the cliff and found an "easy' access to the top of the cliff, and then cleared there to meet up with a trail that was originally opened up by deer. Tim had noticed this opening at the back of our property and started to follow it, opened it up and made it more accessible. Here some pictures.
Spruce trees with trimmed branches make excellent coat and radio trees, while working at the bottom of the cliff.
As you can tell Stella is once again supervising the work. Yours truly did help, but stayed well away from the chainsaw.
How a cedar tree can grow out off a rock is a riddle to us.
In the meantime we had some jobs to do around the house. Tim offered to seal the new chairs and I had some gardens to clean out. We saved these jobs for the warmer and calm weather.

But now that the weather got cooler and windier again, it was time to get back into the forest and clean the trail from all the trimmings. A good example of Alvar rocks on the trail to the top of the cliff
