Yes we did, and no, we have no plans to buy another one. Not for the foreseeable future anyway.
It was not an easy decision to make, but we were both in agreement that the boat took a lot of work to winterize. Mind you, being out on the water, and slowly going nowhere at great expense, enjoying nature, peace and quietness, drop the hook in a sheltered bay, swim a bit and then meet up with other boaters, is a great way to spend your summer, but at the same time we were really neglecting our landlubber friends and kids. So, time to shift our summer attention to our property, kids, family and friends, and finally do the long drive out to Calgary next year and across Canada, the year after, enjoy the fall colours on Cape Breton (fall starts early there), and many more destinations all in Canada.
Now we are concentrating on the addition to be built next spring and on doing chores around the house. We also helped the new owners (younger couple) winterizing the mighty Pinnacle. They are from Montreal and brand new to boating. A lot of explaining had to be done. Here a picture of one of the new owners putting the winter cover on.
