Nice stretch of weather, and ground has been broken

So, Sunday was the first day of a stretch of good weather. Left the house late morning with lugage and food for a few days. Provisioned the boat and off we went. Decided to go to the Benjamin Islands, where the bugs are usually not a problem, remembering the mosquitoes all too well that we encountered last year at Croker at this time of the year. It was warmer than we expected. Opened part of the full enclosure and motor sailed in shorts and t-shirts. The Benjamin Islands  is a group of granite rocks, an 2 of them are big and high enough to make for a good anchorage and protects against all winds, except for when the wind has an easterly component to it. These 2 islands also offer good hiking and blueberries. A very popular anchorage and extremely crowded from mid July to mid August. We saw only one other sailboat there and we anchored in front of highway 400, something we had never been able to do. It got its name because it offers a smooth hike that goes up  to the top of the island. Very popular with anybody who wants to stretch their legs. In the summer all boaters hike it and from a distance it looks like a busy highway.
No blackflies here and  only a few mosquitoes at dusk. We could sit outside and enjoy the weather.

Too bad we had to leave on Tuesday because of appointments, but also to see this

the start of the garage, with a loft. Eventually the loft will have a bedroom and bathroom, and the whole building will be attached to the house with a breezeway.
