House update part 2

And here we are, 2 weeks later. We, i.e. Tim,  Drew, plus a former computer customer and grandsons of yet another computer customer, loaded the U-Haul truck. Jan and I went shopping in the meantime for some home improvements and groceries. Next morning we headed out. Tim and me first. I followed Tim  who was driving the truck. Possibly one of the first times I actually drove the speed  limits. After an uneventful, but pleasant ferry ride, we all headed for our new house, except for me. I had to stop in Gore  Bay for groceries and bedding that was still on the boat. By the time I aŕrived in Silver Water, Tim, Jan and Drew were already well on their way unloading the truck.
The woodstove is about to be moved without the pallet it is mounted on.

This was continued the next morning, and finished early morning. We returned the truck  and had a beer with Drew and Jan on the boat. After that, back to Cooks Dock Road for dinner. Drew and Jan had to leave the next day. We hope they will visit us a lot and we will probably visit them as well.

We just went on to unpack, clean and in Tim's  case  chop wood for the winter.
The Huronites will discover (if they look closely) a certain branded coffee mug.

We met more new neighbours and got to know some already a bit better.  Neighbours.... well they sort of live 5 km. down the road. Of course one of them is Dutch, from Stadskanaal. Karen, his wife, and him started a recycling program here and delivered the blue bin today. We were also told that we would have a housewarming party, organized by the village, once we are ready. Wow. Very nice  welcome for us. Tomorrow Tim will attend his first volunteer fire department meeting, and so  we slowly settle in. (And continue to cut more wood!)
