Well, we're running a wee bit behind with our postings. And with no further ado a lot of pictures, with the occasional comment.
I love spring. The green looks fresh, the bulbs are suddenly popping up, birds are tweeting. What is there not to like. Because of all the snow melting fast, and heavy rainfall, there was some flooding going on. This picture was taken in late April in Espanola. It's the boat launch dock. No dock to be seen!
After the crocuses (croci?), it was time for the daffodils, and then the tulips.
Stella was pretty bored by it all.
Falls running.
Went for a road trip after some days of heavy rain to see the Chutes running, north of Massey. We went there last year as well, but later in the spring. They were even more impressive this year, and the noise was incredible. I was worried that the bridges would be washed away. But since I'm typing here, it didn't happen (of course not!)
The weather was nice in May, followed by an early arrival of black flies, then it turned a bit cooler again and rained a lot. Around the May 24 weekend it changed again. Warm and no rain, and then it got warmer, and still no rain. Everything started to dry out, so Tim went down to the dock for water to water the grass and gardens.
However the woods are dry, the moss is cracked and hard, and everybody is worried about potential forest fires. Quite a few fires burning in Northern Ontario and Quebec, and pending on the wind we get a reminder of all the fires burning around us. The air smells smokey, your eyes are burning, and it's hard to breathe. This what our sunsets looked like with any kind of a northerly wind
The fires closest to Manitoulin have been extinguished, so it's easier to breathe now.
Stella is swimming happily around to get cool relief from the heat (30C today)
and the gardens (thank you Tim for watering them) look great
