April had its own will, and decided to continue the trend, set by her brother March, to have temperatures below seasonal. However, the sun had already some heat and melted the last of the snow slowly, but steadily. The rain helped as well.
We had quite a bit of rain actually, and some nasty high winds. Lost some maple trees because of that. Tim cut up the good parts of these trees into firewood. His goal is to have 3 years of firewood in stock at al times. You can see why these trees came down. The start of rot is visible. The really rotten parts were left in the woods to just rot away.
Once most of the snow was gone, we had some visitors, 7 in total. Usually we see them in the woods, occasionally in the back, but now they were feasting. I looked up afterwards what they could have been eating. Apparently the seeds of weeds are considered a delicatessen by them. I just said "glad I could provide you with some nice meals."
With all this melting going on, we wondered what the Bridal Veil Falls would look like, so off we went to Kagawong. Lots of water coming down, contrary to the summer when it's a gentle flow.
Easter morning was a not so nice surprise, but the sun took care of things.
Most of the ice is gone.
