Right then. We're definitely not marching into spring at any speed at the moment. There are the occasional teasers of thaw, followed by snow, thaw, freezing rain, and to top it all off, oh insult of all insults, icepellets with some 10 cm of very wet snow. However, it's warm enough now that this new layer of snow is melting.
The snowshoes have to take a backseat now, until next year
This was taken earlier this week
Taken today. At least the sun is out.
We also heard the first cranes today and then saw them flying over, heading south. Wise call on their part, since the fields here still have snow as you can tell by the picture above, and the weekend weather looks really cold, with lows forecasted to be -14 to -16 on Saturday and Sunday.
