I felt great with my new hip and thought it was time to make the bed in the v-berth. That done, got groceries on the boat and off we went. Once again we had planned to stay out for 10 days or so, and I assured Tim that we had enough dog food. Headed out to the Benjies for the first night and yours truly did a little oops. Enough food for Stella for 1 week, after that, things would be grim for her, unless we would feed her rice, carrots, corn, black beans and pork meat.
Went to Gibson the next day to meet up with some old friends from our days in Penetanghuishene. Here a picture of the 3 boats,
but also one of me after doing one lap around the boat. My legs felt pretty much like rubber, but all that improved rapidly with more swimming.
After that we went to Hotham and had some relaxing days there. The fishing was good too.
Cocktail hour took place in dinghies, rafted together. We all were good at practicing social distancing since we all have different social bubbles. Wish most people would follow these simple rules about keeping social distance, but what we occasionally see makes us very afraid of what is ahead of us this fall and winter. Maybe even in 2 weeks, when most people are done with their holidays.
Looking at the weather forecast after 4 days with rain and high winds coming, we decided to just go home, and not give Stella her gourmet food. Tim is now working on projects around the house. He built a wood drying shed

And of course there is the eternal cutting of the grass. We have a lot of that.
Drew and Jan will arrive on Sunday with Coco, their new puppy dog. They bought a travel trailer and will camp on our land. We are looking forward to their visit. Haven't seen them for over a year because of hip surgery and COVID.

Get a goat - they make great pets and guard animals, and will keep your grass nice and short.
ReplyDeleteAlso a good source of milk and cheese (and meat, if you get more than one/breed them).
