Suddenly an empty house

We had a really good time with my sisters Do and Felie, and much to Tim's joy he was able to corrupt them. At first, when offered ice cream, they would ask for one small scoop. Under Tim's guidance they truly learned to appreciate and eat the local ice cream, and by the time they left they would ask for 3 scoops (drie bolletjes).
After we had dropped them off at the Sudbury Airport we did some groceries, and went home. Much of the weekend was spent cutting the grass and doing laundry and trying to clean the house. Trying is the key word here. The weather was gorgeous, we had a community bbq, organized by a family in Silver Water (a yearly event), some fire department stuff for Tim to take care of and I had a meeting and some appointments. At the same time we're looking at at least one week of gorgeous weather, so we got organized, packed for at least a week, and after a meeting that I had to attend, we headed out to the boat with yet another stop at the grocery store.
Decided to start out with anchoring at Hotham Island and to decide from there where to go to next. It is one of our favourite anchorages and we have come there for a few years now.

It offers a beautiful view of the La Cloche Mountains and it is very quiet. It seems that whenever we anchor there we sleep a lot and don't too much of anything, but talk, meet up with old friends (Tango and Georgian Mist were there, just like previous years), and take the dog to shore. One of our friends nicknamed it Sleepy Hollow after we told her about our "active" lifestyle here.

One of those places here you just want to stay. However, we thought it was time to move, especially with an Easterly wind in the forecast. Hotham offers good protection against any wind direction but an easterly. Not too many anchorages do, and we decided to go to Croker, a very short but nice sail. It was pretty quiet there as well. The weather was warm and a lot of swimming was done. Tim found a small blueberry patch and was caught on camera.

The picture also offers a good view from where we were anchored looking NW. The North Channel  is just good cruising and beautiful.
Then it was time to head back home, and finish that cleaning. Also have to get organized for our next visitors. Peter and Theresa will arrive on Thursday at dinner time.
But first we had some visitors this afternoon,  a retired firefighter from Michigan and Doug, the chief of the Silver Water fire department. It was too hot to clean anyway. Maybe tomorrow ...
