The seasonal madness has started

And we're not talking the spring madness of getting the boat ready for launch but also getting all the permits for the building of the garage. We got our letter of conformity.  Many of you will wonder "what is a letter of conformity? ". We would anyway. As mentioned in the past we live in an unorganized township. We don't need a building permit,  but we do need this letter that states we can build according to the plans we submitted. So, setbacks and all that are required. We did a lot of measuring and drawing and got the letter. Mind you, we will build according to code. If you ever want to sell, potential buyers want to see that, just like us when we bought this place. Then suddenly Tim thought about a sceptic permit . And sure enough, too many people built a pool or garage on a sceptic bed, so we submitted drawing and money. We're now waiting on this permit. Hopefully it will be in next week or so.
In the meantime we have other things on the go. The laundry line was attached to the maple that we had to cut down, so we moved it (well Tim did) to the other side of the house and as I write this, Tim is building a platform off the porch with poles to hang laundry to dry.
And yes, of course there is the usual boat madness.  We took the shrink wrap off and waxed and then Tim made sure everything is still working, electronics, engine, etc. We're planning to launch on Friday, May 17. Keeping our fingers crossed here. After that ... well Bice will wash the deck, provision the galley with coffee, spices, starches and all you need for another season on the water.
