An unexpectedly early launch

We had planned to launch on Friday May 17, and had booked a 10:30 slot. Mind you, in Gore Bay these times can easily change because of unforeseen circumstances. We arrived at 9 am in the marina to preheat the engine, put on fenders and dock lines and all that last minute checking that we always do. Tim had already hooked up all the hoses from the tru-hulls to the intakes and discharges after waxing the boat on Wednesday and had closed the seacocks, a job he usually does just before launching the boat . We arrived at 9 at the boat, or rather, we arrived at the spot where she used to be, but the Pinnacle was not there. When we looked around the yard, this is what we saw

Norm and Mark had already put her in the slings, with all those seacocks in the water. Good thing those hoses were connected. Tim hopped on the boat, opened the seacocks, and all was well. Like I wrote, times are flexible in Gore Bay. Norm had a lot of charter boats to launch that day. This could have ended badly, but it didn't. Norm had told his helper Mark to leave the boat high and ready to come out in case of trouble.
Off we went at 10 to our temporary dock, and got a lot done that day, including putting the enclosure up, after some waxing. We enjoyed sitting in the sun in the cockpit protected against wind and cool air and dreaming of sailing away. Nice wind, be it cold, and very a very sunny day. To reward ourselves we went to the Split Rail pub and had a beer on the patio.

A cold and wet weekend now. Bice will be back to the boat on Monday and Tuesday to clean the inside and wash the deck.
