Spring is here, be it that it is still cool, and the melting of the snow is a very slow process because of that. Would like to see lots of sun, temperatures of 10c and green grass, but we will have to exercise some patience. The advantage is that there is no flooding. However, once all the snow was gone from the driveway, we noticed quite a bit of ponding between the road and our driveway. We also had an extremely wet spot half way. Gravel was needed. Called the quarry owner down the road, and since the quarry is still closed for the season, he gave us permission to just go in and get what we needed, and we could let him know later how much we had taken. We have a very nice friend down the road with a tractor and a trailer, who once he heard what we needed, was willing to help us out. Off Tim and Doug went with Doug's tractor and trailer to the quarry, where they loaded the trailer with the gravel, using the loader. Sure beats shovelling it by hand into our trailer. Once back Doug dumped some of it in the wet area and the rest in the puddle. After that he levelled it and packed it down. Tim in the meantime used the shovel to divide the gravel over the wet area.

And here it is, some nice, fresh gravel patches. As you can see we still have quite a bit of snow left, but soon ...
