Lunches and more lunches

Life is suddenly filled with lunches with friends and colleagues. Retiring is one thing but moving away to Manitoulin Island, an 8 hour drive, well, for lots of people that is reason to say that we should have one more lunch together. These people didn't hear me protest, and even better yet, the library director told me to take all the time I wanted for these celebratory lunches.

My last lunch was at Dawn's house, my previous supervisor. We always got along well, shared many lunches and coffee breaks. She retired 2 years ago and organized a lunch at her place for me and other female retirees from the college. She even baked a delicious chocolate cake!

Theresa took the picture. She and Peter are in the habit to bring champagne when somebody retires, so that's what Theresa did and we drank it all and after that a bottle of white wine. All this to wash down the smoked salmon, salad, green beans, bagels, and scalloped potatoes. Needless to say that this was a long lunch. Also got a lovely rose, with a poem,

and a bottle of white, so I could go through retirement footloose and fancy free, so we drank it!
Thank you all.

At the same time that we had our lunch, Tim had lunch with Peter in a pub. No pictures of course.
