New post after all those months, and a new house

We have been really busy looking for a property with some acreage. We weren't a 100% sure yet that we wanted to move to Manitoulin (90%), and thought we should give the Bancroft area another go. A house east of Bancroft had been listed for a year now and slowly but steadily the price had dropped form $250,000.00 to 150. We felt obliged to check it out. Beautiful environment, but remote, wow. Gore Bay, Manitoulin is a metropolis compared to Ompah and surroundings. The house had also been designed by an engineer but, paradoxically, had a lot of unusable space(cubist style doesn't always work, especially not in a small setting), to the point that we wouldn't be able to fit our bed in the master bedroom. We made up our minds finally and only looked at properties on Manitoulin. There weren't that many listings though and no new ones on the horizon either.

In the meantime we worked on the house here to get it ready for listing. Well, we got it ready, but we never listed. A young couple had heard we were selling and contacted us. They came to look at the house, sort of bought it on the spot (conditions), and then we went to Manitoulin and bought a house on the spot, sort of. A house that had been for sale for some time and was really not on the top of our list until we saw it. Small, but we are planning a small addition next year.Life is too much excitement now, as stressful as it was in the past weeks, We’re also trying to figure out the logistics of closing dates (May 4 for Lucan, June 7 for Manitoulin) and me working till May 11. To be continued with more pictures and details. But I should write right now that it does sit on 50 acres of beautiful wood land.
