So, it's a small house, but an addition will do the trick. The owner has one of these old fashioned wood burning cooking stoves, and he uses that to heat the house and cook on it in winter. The stove has been happily leaking and all the walls are slightly discoloured, so we are in for some work there starting in June.

We hope that all the sealing and painting can be done in 4 days (we may be a bit optimistic here, and then we can move our stuff in. If not, we will put most of the stuff in the drive shed and continue the noble work. We will also like to do some sailing of course.

The cook stove will be replaced with an airtight wood stove and cooking will be done on a regular range. Plan is to replace that with a propane stove. Tim is also planning solar energy, but now do a grid tie where you feed the surplus of your energy into the grid and build a credit to be used when you don't make enough to run your house, and not have a battery bank like we had here in Lucan. No doubt Tim will post on this once he starts the project.

Home inspection for the Manitoulin house will take place tomorrow. Hope it will pass.
