Tradition has it that we always go to 12 Mile Bay on Canada Day. Started that in 2003. Three local marinas started a sail rendez-vous there a few years ago.
We know quite a few of the boats and their owners and it is always nice to see them. Wind on the nose of course. One brave sailor (Arrow) indeed tacked all the way to 12 Mile. We left him behind at Gin Rocks at 11 am, saw him coming in at 6 or so. So, double the time, had the wind be in his favour, he would have done it in 4. He has a fasr boat. We just wanted to get there, so we motored. Shame was not felt.
