Little Sandy Bay, July 16

What else would you do on a weekend where the temperatures were supposed to go up to 34 and no wind, but sail, well motor sail, your boat to a beautiful anchorage in Southern Georgian Bay. There are 3 islands we really like to go to, but you can only anchor there when the winds are light and have no southerly component to them. This was one of those weekends. Decided to go to Little Sandy Bay, at Christian Island

There may have been 12 boats total, mostly sail. It was quiet and the water was warm. Went with dog to shore and paid our dues to the natives for using their land to take the dog and go for a hike. We could have pitched a tent there, and made a fire as well, and all that for $5.00 per person. Cheaper than what the government, or campgrounds charge. Some people have problems with paying the natives to go to shore, we don't. If people were starting to use my land (well in my case, backyard), I would charge them too.

Main reason to go to shore, aside from the dog, was this little yellow ultralight float plane. Here a link to a video that Tim posted on youtube

There should also be some pictures in this posting, but we left the camera on the boat and the ones that Tim took with his crackberry are apparently not the greatest (true).

However, one good one taken on our way home, and a not so good one, but oh well ... on our way back we saw one of the tall ships sailing by, i.e. floating. Once again not enough wind. We tried for an hour or so to make some progress going wing on wing, and ended up motoring, since I really did have to go back to work on Monday.
