And we're in the water! Tim and I went up on April 8 early in the morning, took the winter cover and frame off and waxed the hull. Once again we thought it would take hours and hours, but previous owners had the hull professionally compounded and waxed, and after talking to Larry (Bayport's Service manager) about our needs (minimal), he advised a certain wax, and wax only, no cleaning, etc., and after 2 hours Pinnacle II had a very shiny hull. Next day, Sunday, we put on the frame for the enclosure and she was ready to be launched.
Got a phone call from the marina on Wednesday that they could launch us on Thursday. Needless to say that Tim grabbed some food, coffee and overnight stuff and went up right away.
So, here we are on Thursday, April 13 and we're floating. I came up Thursday evening with Stella and we spent Friday (sun and warm!) and Saturday morning on the boat, getting her, or rather, started to get her organized. Had a good time with some new sailors we met, and some friends, then left because of the rainy forecast.
Another sailing season has started and we're pretty excited about it all.
