And now it is Christmas

Neglected this blog quite a bit. Pure laziness!

Had quite a bit going on here. First the Lucan Christmas parade with the usual rijsttafel. Had a big group this year, but no pictures to show. Can tell you though that there were hardly any leftovers and we all had a lot of fun.

After that things were sort of normal: snow, cold, wind, the usual December stuff. No road closures though. Also rain to melt all that white stuff. The snowshoes are still in the closet.

Maaike is home right now for Christmas. Had a nice fondue to celebrate Christmas Eve with her and Drew and Jan. After dinner we played dominoes and poor Tim had the good fortune to pick the worst stones ever. Hopefully he will do better next time.

Tonight it's just the three of us, well sort of. We have a guest hanging on to a blade for dear life.

Marjo, our youngest daughter, gave this to Tim. Whenever she sees a Donald Duck she thinks of Tim, not because he quacks like a duck, but wait, maybe ... he would do the voice with a bit of helium from a balloon. The kids just loved that.

In the meantime we are making some big plans here regarding the boat. The plan is to move her to Manitoulin Island, either Gore Bay, or Little Current, late June, early July. We will take a week to do this, a mini-vacation, and leave her there. We will spend 3 weeks on her in August, and then a week or 2 long weekends in September This will be my last summer at the college and we are planning to spend our summers mostly in the North Channel once retired!

We did go to Midland this week. Tim checked the boat and Stella and I walked to our dock.
