Different start to boating season

Spring finally arrived. The boat was launched on April 29. Engine started. Off we went to A-dock. Our dock, C, needed repairs. Winter had destroyed the hydro there and some slips were severely damaged. Moved the boat 2 weeks later, put the sails on, took the fuel injectors off for cleaning (we had quite the nasty black soot). According to the fuel injection place they were not dirty. We should have smelled a big time musk rat by then. They cleaned them anyway and off we went for the long weekend. Planned on putting the injectors back  in and maybe go for a short day sail Water is still frigid here and at that time Georgian Bay still had some ice. No early anchoring this year in empty anchorages for us. When Tim put the injectors in, he noticed that in the past a mechanic had not put a copper washer in properly (or something like that), but since it always worked ... She started and purred and still a bit of smoke; put it in gear, gave a bit more power, and that was the end of the engine. We could have spent the summer overhauling the engine, till the next thing would go, or do what we thought of doing 2 years ago, i.e. get a new engine. We never trusted her and now we were just happy that it blew in the slip and not in a rocky entrance to an anchorage or coming in from off shore. We were dismayed, but not depressed. We decided to enjoy the weekend and help a boater friend with his anchor light problems.

Then we had last weekend, May 24. We worked hard. Tim and I both had sleepless nights on how this was going to go. Here the pictures. Phill and I winched.
