New patio

We literally dropped our back deck 7 years ago, by cutting the supporting beams and letting it rest on the dirt. We did this because we had quite a bit of rot in there and had planned this big Mid-summer party for our landlubber friends.

Needles to say, that after one summer, we thought that this state of affairs was quite reasonable. After all, why build decks and such when you can sail. Nice wooden floor in the back, level with the grass, what more do you want.

We also did not quite agree on what to replace it with, so this gave us time to toss ideas around, and have all kinds of 'discussions'.

And then the weeds started to grow, and the wood disintegrated completely. This summer we agreed on what to do and here is the result (still needs a few stones, but hey, maybe next year).



We celebrated with a glass of wine and some olives
