Sailing 2009

July 20. Leaving Pointe au Baril with Casa Mara. Planning to go to the Bustards and from there the next day to Killarney. Not much wind, and Georgian Bay is flat. Dave suggests that we skip the Bustards, take advantage of the weather window and go straight to Killarney. It would make for a long day (sorry Max), but then we would be there. So, off we go, motor sailing. 9.5 hours of sun, cold and nothingness. No auto pilot either. Life is boring. Tim has a turbo stick that he is testing for one of his customers. He takes advantage of it all, and goes online, reads the newspaper, looks at the stock market and reads Otto's blog.We take turns on the helm and then after 6 hours we can see the white mountains. This is the best part of the the day. There is hope.




Here we are entering Killarney Channel.

Dave does a circle, so we can take a picture of Casa Mara and the light house, and we head straight to Covered Portage to anchor for a day or so. After all this we feel we deserve a rest.
