Local waters

Lots of anchorages, but not all are suitable for easterlies, so we ended up in good old Croker Island for our next outings and last outing, even though we tried our utmost to go out west, but the return trip would be awful on the engine pounding into the waves.

The weeks we headed out, the last one was very damp in the morning and a lot of condensation inside the boat. Even the hatches were dripping onto our noses. We desperately need a heater for the mornings. Lots of mornings were foggy. Here some pictures.

Croker anchorage

Next week were at Benjamin Island, where we were all by ourselves. Winds were forecasted to be light and variable. We were planning to go to Croker the next morning, since the winds, once again, by the afternoon were going to the east. Needless to say, the forecasters were wrong. Rudely we were woken up by a rocking and rolling boat. The wind was blowing 15 knots from the east at 2AM. Not 2PM. It calmed down after an hour or so. So, we stayed put. The next morning we went to Croker

Enjoyed a fabulous red moonrise

And 10 days later we found ourselves again at Croker. Tim admiring a flock of mergansers doing a tour of the anchorage.

We woke up to a foggy morning,  however Stella  had to be taken to shore.

After that we went croker once more for a few days, still an east wind blowing. Several boats were in there, i.e. 3 at the most. We decided to call it a day after those days. Had a nice sail back to Gore Bay for the most part while heading south.

Here is Stella having her last dinghy ride on September 17th. We are still one of the last boats out judging by the empty slips.

We came out today on September 29th. Here some pics of that adventure
