Vacation

Left Lucan on July  20 at 6 in the morning  and took the ferry from Tobermory to Manitoulin Island.

 An uneventful trip, although  we did meet one of the cousins of Lee Hayden, the Gore Bay  harbour master. Arrived in the marina  at 3, and aftee showing everything, decided to meet up with a friend and do the provisioning the next morning. It had been a long day and we were pretty tired.

After provisions had been bought we headed out to the Benjamin Islands. Winds were from the NW 10. Had both sails up and had a fast trip. Be it a bit too fast once the winds were up to 20 knots and it was obvious that our traveller needed grease (had a hard time moving it), and were reminded to put the reefing lines in.

Boat handled really well though.
Once in the Benjies  we met up with our friends Dave  and  Cheryl. They had arrived there a few hours earlier after travelling for 4 days. Had cocktails and picked some blueberries for our cereal for the next morning.

Winds were forecasted  to  go to the NE at 20  knots, so decided to go to Croker the next morning, where one is really well protected in those conditions. With the wind came rain. Lots of it.

On Monday we went back to Gore  Bay, so Dave and Cheryl could provision. We met up with the crews of Windigo and Arrow, and had a good time. Next day off to Beardrop it was.

What a great anchorage in both meanings of the word. Not too many pictures were taken, but we will go back and take lots of them. A nice sunny day with swimming was followed by another monsoon. 2 inches again.

Next day off to Longpoint, and everywhere we are now. Reminds us a lot of 12 Mile Bay. Very quiet here.
