We stayed home this weekend and watched the rain fall and fall some more!

Had a nice sail last weekend to Beausoleil, anchored there for the night. Saturday was still a bit cool, but Sunday was really warm. Mosquitoes are back with a vengeance this year, maybe worse than we have ever seen. Water levels are high and a lot of land and beach area is gone or turned into swamp. One of the rocks on which we used to take Max is now "divided" in two.

 

Once back in the marina we met some of the boaters on our new dock. We had a good time with lots of laughing and joking. There is some murmuring of starting a book club.

Knowing that the weather would be bad this last weekend of May, we planned to stay home and catch up on some jobs. For Tim it was some tricky networking (and he is still at it, with the determination of a terrier), for me working in the garden. The high on Saturday was 26 and it was sunny and humid. I accomplished quite a bit until the thunder and rain rolled in at around 3 PM, and the temperature dropped within the hour to 19C. We sat down on the porch with Stella and are happy to report that thunder and lightning go by unnoticed, same for fireworks. We tested that on Victoria day weekend. The cardinals were eating some leftover seeds on the porch this afternoon, while it's raining and the wind is blowing, and the temp. out there is 8C, and Tim took this through the window/screen. They were actually feeding each other occasionally. Quite the sight.
