AC=After Christmas.

Drove the girls home on Boxing Day, beating a very nice winter storm. After that we went on to a small village in Ontario, Coe Hill, 2.5 hours NE of Toronto to stay in a very nice cabin, i.e. on the web it looked nice. Too bad that there was no propane to heat the place ("the guy didn't show"), and that heat was provided by 3 electrical space heaters with very noisy (1 with a high pitch) fans. Did not sleep, the floor, not insulated, was cold, so Max slept on the couch, and the water smelled of sulfur. Had a shower nevertheless. And even Tims's words were "I may know about redneck solutions, but this beats it all".

as you can see the taps are on the outside!

We only stayed the one night instead  of the 2 we had planned. Hiked the property we were interested in north of Bancroft, very pretty with all the snow and so quiet, and then decided to give up on land there. Very pretty, but too remote from everything we enjoy. We are glad we decided to go there in the dead of winter and see how we would like it then. Now we know.
